Exercise, physical activity and fitness are important for persons with disabilities (PWDs). Research has shown that participating in sports and physical activity is associated with many positive outcomes. Among the importance of physical activity are to improve health, prevent disease and promote socialization. For PWDs, it is also a form of rehabilitation. Although there is substantial research to show that exercise improves health, inactivity is common among PWDs. Inactivity of PWDs has been linked to various barriers. The most cited ones are costs, transportation and accessible facilities. When Malaysian PWDs were asked why they do not exercise, most said they do not know what is available and where to go.

This section of the website will include sections on exercise videos for PWDs, accessible facilities in Malaysia, disability sports in Malaysia. It is hoped the information will motivate PWDs to be involved in physical activity and sports.
