Autism Spectrum Disorder (A.S.D.)

Autism spectrum disorder (A.S.D.) is a group of developmental disabilities caused by an abnormality in the brain. A.S.D.s begin during childhood and last throughout a person’s life People with A.S.D.s tend to have problems with social and communication skills. They might:

repeat certain behaviours
dislike change in their daily activities and routines
have unusual ways of learning and paying attention
react in unusual ways to different sensations

If you are a parent concerned that your child may have autism, the GENIUS Kurnia programme is a support programme aimed at empowering carers of children with autism, enhancing autism awareness, and giving children with autism a head start through early intervention and care.

GENIUS Kurnia also provides weekend parent trainings, public talks and online education. Their online iKurnia course will help you understand what autism is, how it is diagnosed, and what early interventions are available to best help your child.
