Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) melebarkan lagi skop tanggungjawab sosial korporatnya kepada masyarakat apabila menjalin kerjasama dengan tiga syarikat dan pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGO) bagi memartabatkan pendidikan Islam dalam kalangan orang kurang upaya (OKU).

Seorang anak nekad berhenti persekolahan empat tahun lalu, untuk mencari pekerjaan bagi menyara ibu orang kurang upaya (OKU) dan tiga adiknya. Mohd Amirul Aizat Mohd Usok, 20, mengambil keputusan berkenaan ketika di Tingkatan Empat, iaitu selepas setahun kematian bapa mereka, Mohd Usok Ismail, 69.

Enabled for work

Less than a year after its official launch, Yayasan Gamuda’s Enabling Academy (EA) has made a strong impact in driving change for people with autism in workplaces, which it wants to further build on in the years to come. The academy partners with companies to create beneficial employment for 20 professionals with ASD yearly. Its Employment Transition Programme (ETP) enables those with ASD to integrate with ease into the corporate world.
