As paediatricians, therapists and non-governmental organisations working with children, we wish to see an inclusive education system that welcomes diversity in society. For this reason, we regard the directive from Education director-general Datuk Dr Amin Senin that pupils in government schools not be placed in classes according to their academic abilities as a welcome and farsighted step towards building a more caring and inclusive society.

The shop in Kubang Kerian is owned by Mohd Rosli Wang Noh who said that a prayer is all he asks for from his disabled and elderly customers Mohd Rosli, who strongly believes in giving it back to society, especially the less fortunate, said it was duty that he has vowed to take as he wanted to help ease the burden the less fortunate ones.

Mohd Firdaus Abdul Latif was pursuing a course to repair air-conditioners in 2004 when he was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident. He was riding home to Tanjung Malim after classes when he was hit by a vehicle near Templer’s Park in Selayang. In 2015, he enrolled in Maybank Foundation’s Reach Independence and Sustainable Entrepreneurship Programme (RISE) and learnt the many aspects of doing business.
