Themed “Love Your Feet, Adios Diabetes”, the annual run, organised for the fourth time by Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC), was aimed at raising awareness of diabetes and its complications.

The inaugural Art Includes Festival 2019 in Kuala Lumpur is on a mission to showcase disability arts and culture. The festival, which runs at the Ruang by Think City venue on Sept 23-29, underlines the need for diversity when it comes to the social, cultural and professional development of people with disabilities.

There was nothing but confidence on the faces of participants at the fourth edition of the Special Olympics Selangor (SOS) Unified Bowling Tournament in IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. The tournament was organised in conjunction with the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day – the founder of the Special Olympics movement.

Today, the 12-year-old dyslexic and autistic boy enjoys live painting and his artworks were exhibited at the “The Joy of Painting; Young Artists Art Exhibition” at Pustaka in Miri last month. Seven of his paintings were sold during the exhibition to raise funds for a storybook project in rural schools.

In a show of appreciation for the state’s athletes, the Penang government presented them with RM187,000 in incentives under its Skim Kemenangan Sukan Kerajaan Negeri Pulau Pinang (Skimas).

At first glance, the children playing futsal looked like any youngster bursting with energy on the court. Who would have thought that some of them were children with intellectual disability (ID) participating in a sport with nary a difference.

Volunteers from Citi Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur and Penang raised over RM102,000 for the Paralympic movement in Malaysia in support of the training and development of para athletes in boccia, para archery, wheelchair rugby and para badminton.
