Disabled drivers left in a lurch

Inconsiderate motorists in Klang are hogging designated parking bays for the disabled, despite action taken by the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) enforcement team. MPK statistics reveal that an average of 15 cars a day are towed away for parking in disabled bays, with the offenders also issued summonses for RM400.

However, councillor Allan Tan, who is disabled, said many of the offenders just could not be bothered.

Nonprofit Merges Hi-Tech and High Fashion to Make Clothes for People With Disabilities

The Brooklyn based inclusive-design organization launched in 2014, initially as a public service project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In the three years since, the group has developed around 60 unique garments for people with disabilities ranging from spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, and Lou Gehrig’s disease as well as “invisible” disabilities like autism.
